| Description: | This add-on contains about 40 new asteroids. Half of them are displayed as ellipsoids or spheroids based on light-curve observations. The other half are represented by facet models, also derived from light-curves. All models and ellipsoid dimensions are based on papers and data files produced by Johanna Torppa and others at the University of Helsinki. All asteroids in this set are tinted with their observed colors, which were derived from data files generated by the SMASS survey. The asteroid satellites are based on a compilation by Jack Higgins, with additional information compiled by Robert Johnston. This package also contains a texture map for Ceres and updated colors for the asteroids included in the Celestia basic installation. To install, simply copy the SSC files to your Celestia\extras directory, the models to your Celestia\models directory, and the texture to your Celestia\textures\medres directory. |

Just what the Doctor ordered here. Pun intended. ;-)
This add-on combines scientific accuracy with
detailed observation of the asteroids included in the
package. Individual models and colors are all
derived from REAL scientific cata, and it makes a
VERY nice addition to one's collection of asteroids
for Celestia.
