Extrasolar: Stars:
Star Databases

Summary:Version 2.1 A contains 1016382 stars.
Version 2.1 C contains 2072867 stars.
Description:Both files contain a revised stars.dat file which works also with
Celestia 1.5.1 (or newer). Save a copy of your current Program
Files\Celestia\data\stars.dat file and save it in an unrelated
directory somewhere just in case you wish to reverse the
changes you are about to make here.

To proceed, simply replace the old stars.dat file with whichever
of the files you will download here. Again, you may wish to
make a backup of your existing file before replacing with either
of these files.

Depending on the speed and graphics capabilities of your
machine, these add-ons can create quite a bit of overhead!

NOTE: As discussed on the Celestia forum, these databases
may contain some location errors.

This is absolutely incredible. Im new to Celestia, wanted the nebulae and black holes right from the get go but nothing compares to the sheer awe of zooming in on 2 million+ stars in our galaxy. I actually made a 2nd copy of Celestia on my computer with this as the only add-on just so my laptop could animate it smoothly. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this :)

Is there a possibility to export the coordinate of each star? (x1,x2,x3)

That's alot of stars. My computer is a little slow, but the new stars are worth it.
