| Description: | The original add-on (by Dave MC) was designed for older versions of Celestia. Celestia 1.5.1 includes monochromatic 3D model of this galaxy in a shape of a typical, spiral galaxy without the "nuclear starbust ring" which is a unique feature of this object. Raster image in this add-on is mapped on this 3D model and renders image as seen from Hubble telescope giving more realistic picture of this particular object.
The main bug is that original Dave McDonald's add-on places this galaxy much closer to Earth than in Celestia 1.5.1 and this is what has been corrected here. Although you will have two duplicate 3D models (old and new) after you install this add-on you won't be able to notice it. We recommend this add-on for those who want to explore the outer space in less abstract but more real shape as known today.
