Fictional: Star Wars:
Star Wars Galaxy

Summary:Adds over 2000 star systems from Star Wars: The Essential Atlas.
Requires Celestia v1.6.0.
Description:This Add-on adds over 2000 star systems from Star Wars: The Essential Atlas and the online supplements to Celestia. All systems are located in Triangulum (M33). The Add-on requires that you have Celestia v1.6.0. It also includes 250000 "filler" stars that increases startup time, and may be removed by deleting the 3 "fillerstars" STC files.

There are "starship" definitions included (SSC) that require other add-ons which are listed in the README file included in the add-on. These definitions are included for those who wish to use them. If you do not wish to use them simply delete them.

TheShadow1138 included some of the default Celestia textures he used in making the addon. If you have not replaced these textures in your installation, you may remove them from the addon. Otherwise, feel free to replace them.

Based on other comments, and the use I had of this addon, I knew there were errors, but I made some fixes for this addon, I changed the distance of M 33 from 2.814e+06 to 2.784e+06 to have the stars inside the galaxy in proper alignment, I also added the Droid Control Ship(with the model and textures) in orbit around Naboo and gave it a beginning and ending date, as it happened in SW Ep I: The Phantom Menace, I also added a texture(The yavin texture with the color toned down and brightness changed) and cloud map(the Gas Giant planet Endor changed to a sepia color and toned down the color and opacity) for Bespin, as Bespin looked like Jupiter, I changed it's radius from 71492 to 59000 and changed it's rotation period from 24 hours to 12 hours(both based on Star Wars and George Lucas's calculations), I also added a Cloud City and Bes Gas Three model orbiting Bespin within it's atmosphere, I also changed the orbital distance of Death Star 2 from 24200 km to 4200 km, as it was originally too far from Endor in thi

Great Job!
There is a lot of details!: Bodies and relative positions.
No matter if textures are simple. We can complete it.
Thanks!

This is a huge add-on, and portrays the planets and stars correctly in relation to each other.
However, there are many problems:
-The filler stars are seperated from the actual star wars systems
-All the stars are below the galaxy they are supposed to be in
-The galaxy is not "far, far away," (the Milky Way is visible from it) nor is it fictional.
-All of the major star wars planets have generic Earth atmospheres except Mustafar, which has a rather peculiar white atmosphere
-the addon adds annoying details like Coruscant's ring system following the Yuuhzan Vong's invasion and the destruction of Byss, but excludes the fact that Shadda-bi-boran was destroyed by a supernova and neither it nor its star should exist. (this is somewhat minor, but for some reason really irritates me)
-Many textures are repeated, and Bespin's texture is the Jupiter texture(??).
-The textures are horrendous.
-Spcecraft? why don't they appear?

It Works With Celestia 1.6.0 and up!

I had to copy the models and textures into the base celestia models and textures directories to get the ships to appear.

Also, the filler stars appear way below the actual systems. Not sure how to fix that. And the systems are way beneath M33. Not sure how to fix that either.

I disagree. Of course, these errors do exist, but I think they are minor ones. I don't find the textures poorly made, and the author used "repeated numbers" only for the planets without orbital data given in any source.
There is quite a lot to see in this addon - of course, the planets from the movies, but also from games (e.g. the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight saga, KotOR 1 and 2), novels, comics and more. In fact, I liked this addon so much that I made a few new systems for it myself. I think it is worth at least checking it out.

This addon is unbelievably bad. Planet and moon sizes had a lot of the exact same numbers repeated over and over again. Not to mention that in order to get some of the spacecraft to appear, and correctly, the end user has to put in extra, unnecessary work. Plus, this addon *should* have had its own, fictional galaxy, complete with a .dsc file. The end user has to put in, once again, unnecessary work to get M 33 to not only be in the same spot, but to also align correctly with the filler stars. And finally, the custom textures were poorly made. Overall, this addon is NOT worth the download time.

I have altered my copy of Celestia 1.6.0 to have M 33 at 2.38 Mly, but have found much more accurate data placing it at around 2.783 Mly. It should be relatively easy to fix for the full release, it will just be labor intensive, but doable. It also gives me an excuse to fixe a rotation issue that I noticed while generating "filler stars" to populate the galaxy. With any luck the full release will be completely inside the Triangulum Galaxy.

Nice Addon. But the stars are NOT in the N33 Galaxy. They are between Milkyway and N33 Galaxy. There is Nothing Galaxy.
I Use Celestia 1.6.0

Alot of effort was out into this and it shows. Good work!

A couple of suggestions for the full version from an old Star Wars geek:

You need alot of filler stars, or maybe put everything in a preexisting galaxy. It's odd not having any stars in the sky when browsing through the systems.

Some higher res textures and maybe orbiting ships for some of the major planets? (IE: Star Destroyers over Byss, Rebel ships over Mon Calamari)
