I don't think the Quaoar duplicate is a big deal.
Just remove the duplicate and put the texture maps on the one that came with Celestia.

However, in Celestia 1.6.1 the built-in quaoar is not replaced. In the ssc, I renamed "Quaoar" in "Quaoar Upgrade" in the ssc-file and put everything into the celestia/extras "folder"
(probably, for replacement, one has to edit the celestia/data/outersys.ssc file and put the textures into the celestia/textures file...)
