| Description: | This was Japan's first interplanetary spacecraft. It was intended to demonstrate the performance of a new launch vehicle, test schemes for the first escape from Earth for Japan on an engineering basis, and to observe space plasma and magnetic fields in interplanetary space. This spacecraft carried out a flyby of Halley's Comet on March 11, 1986 at a distance of approximately 6.99 million kilometers. To install Jack's add-on, copy the texture file to your Celestia\textures\medres folder, the XYZ file to Celestia\data, the 3DS model file to Celestia\models, and the SSC file to your Celestia\extras folder. Please note also that this spacecraft can only be viewed between December 21, 1984 and November 28, 1997 so you'll have to adjust your time in Celestia accordingly. |
