| Description: | This add-on was designed for OLDER versions of Celestia. The latest releases of our favorite program already include a much more realistic representation of this galaxy. It won't hurt anything to install, but is really unnecessary as of Celestia 1.4.1. Also, this add-on utilizes a 3D model (with depth-sorting problems) in order to display Celestia's now built-in (and fully correct) 3D version of the galaxy. Please note also that you will see TWO different renderings of the galaxy if you install this add-on. One is the representation shown here, and the other is Celestia's internal representation. Not recommended unless you have other reasons to install. See the second screen shot below for more information. |

This add on places NGC 4314 in totally different distance from Earth (much closer) than 3D model in Celestia 1.5.1.
Also, for some reason it is classified as Nebula insdead of Galaxy. Note that in order to select this add-on you need to type NGC4314 (without space), while original model is spelled with space NGC 4314.
You may try to look for new addon for this object (with its location modified for Celestia 1.5.1) as I plan to upload here its corrected version.

Oh my, Emma's so right. Violet clashing with pink! Galexies are amazing. This one is no exeption. It's great to see beauties like that.

this galaxy looks awesome how do you take these amazing pictures i want more info on ngc4314 i think that the pink mix with violet is incredible.
