Description:This Virtual Texture package contains 16K shaded Mars Surface and Normal Map textures. Please note that this package contains DDS textures which may not compatible with all graphics cards. To install, simply copy the mars_m46_dds_vt folder, after extraction, to your Celestia\extras folder. If you need more help, please view the Virtual Textures Guide on our Documentation Page.

This is great! I installed in extras folder as per the instructions and reloaded Celestia. I right-clicked on Mars and selected the addon from Additional Textures. The details are marvelous. Celestia zoomed right in on Olympus Mons. I immediately felt right at home.

Blank Mars? Delete other Mars addons that change the texture. I think it was the mars3d addon on my installation.

sorry but your explanations in read me are not clear
You tell that m46normal-dds and m46shaded-dds go in extras but they came in textures/hires folders??i tryed all combinations but the best i have is a blank Mars
where to put documents ending whith ctx ??

Very beautiful map. But .. why does all montains look like craters and craters look like mountains? :-)
